HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH CROSSFIT?
I heard that a fellow Marine, and old high school friend had decided to open an affiliate after transitioning out of the service. Eager to congratulate Thomas, and see what this CrossFit business was all about, I dropped in for my first WOD.
Why you love CrossFit or choose to CrossFit?
As a coach, I love the fact that most if not all movements in CrossFit are readily scalable allowing individuals of all fitness levels to participate. As an athlete, I was shocked at the discomfort and challenge CrossFit presented. The lack of monotony makes keeps each day fresh, and with there always being a skill/movement to improve, there’s never a dull moment.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PHYSICAL ACCOMPLISHMENT?
Finishing my first half marathon in Kinston, NC is my biggest physical accomplishment to date. My lack of preparation and training made it also the most painful and memorable experience. It reinforced the idea that discomfort is inevitably going hit you at sometime point. To feel it in training, or while you’re in competition is completely up to you.
